Here are some initial details regarding the week of school, Monday, May 18-Thursday, May 21 before Graduation 2020 on Friday, May 22.

This year's Nickelodeon-Burbank High School end of year is in a new format! We hope you can join us May 18, 2020 to kick-off Senior Week with the BHS Bash featuring the best animated shorts from our school’s Animation program led by Ms. Jonelle Picket.

Tuesday, May 19 will feature the virtual BHS Faculty Excellence Awards and Wednesday, May 20 will feature our annual Senior Awards, which is virtual as well. Students receiving honors will receive word by the end of this current week of distance learning.

Thursday, May 21 is the last day of instruction for all students and it is the “Last Lap Around the School” and “Book Drop” for the Senior Class. Seniors will be asked to return books to the library during a scheduled time. Returning all books and clearing all in-debts will allow them to pick-up their diploma the following week.

Friday, May 22 we will release a link to the virtual graduation. Please note the new release time of 6:00 p.m. Our virtual graduation will be one of the best anywhere featuring traditional speeches, performances by members of the vocal music program and band, and will include some surprises as well as contributions from the dance program, play production, yearbook and your Senior Statements. This is a special keepsake for our Seniors and a time capsule of the unusual circumstances caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
We will await Governor Newsom’s update at the end of this week, and monitor the situation this summer in the hopes of hosting a live graduation should it become safe to do so.

Thank you teachers for continuing to take care of our Bulldogs during distance learning. Students, please continue to participate and engage to earn your credits for this semester.

This concludes announcements for this week. Have a wonderful evening and week ahead.
