October 2021

Good afternoon MHS Community,

A couple of important announcements/updates:

First Quarter

We are in the last two weeks of the first quarter, with the final day on October 15th. I encourage you to check your student’s grades. All late work is due this Friday, October 8th, and final grades will be submitted on the 15th. Students have the opportunity to earn 30 credits for this first quarter for all of the classes that they pass. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s teachers regarding their grades.

School Site Council Meeting

On Thursday, October 14th, at 4 pm, we will have a School Site Council Meeting. The meeting will be held via zoom. At this meeting, we will be approving our School Safety Plan and our Single Plan for Student Achievement. Here is the link for that meeting: https://zoom.us/j/97477492294?pwd=YTlSeERZaVBTcUs3WU5aOTlKcktXZz09

More than a Meal (Fee Reduction Opportunities):

As a reminder, ALL students can eat FREE in the cafeteria this year. More information can be found here Burbank Unified School District - School Nutrition and Fitness (busdfoodservices.com) including the financial benefits of filling out a Meal Application https://family.titank12.com/.

COVID Testing Schedule:

We continue to offer free COVID testing on Wednesday mornings from 8 - 9:30 am. This form must be completed (once, it last for the whole year) prior to the student being tested. https://app.formdr.com/practice/MTU2NjM=/form/L0L7uHDR_mnIiKbCpxYApgXUua9ar7av

The number one thing we can do is get vaccinated. If you have not yet, please get vaccinated as soon as possible. Students who are vaccinated do not have to quarantine if they are identified as close contacts. Additionally, as you may have seen in the news, the Governor recently imposed a K-12 Vaccine Mandate. At this time, it only applies to students age 16 and up (because the Vaccine is fully approved for that age group). I expect more information regarding vaccinations to be released from the District office in the near future. As always, please give us a call in the office if you have any questions or concerns.
