It is important for everyone to continue in this effort and understand that regular attendance improves student achievement and lays the important personal foundation for punctuality and dependability. Positive attendance also supports your District with funding for staff, programs, and materials to enhance your student’s educational experience.
The Power of 1% has come to symbolize collaboration among parents, students, schools, and the community resulting in a daily attendance rate of 96%! This attendance is reflected in our graduation rate, test results, recognition of distinguished schools, and other indicators of academic success. The Burbank Unified School District is proud to be a high attendance district and with your cooperation and dedication, the Power of 1% will continue to be synonymous with improved attendance and student achievement.
What does this amount represent? It is the amount of money that Burbank Unified School District, BUSD, has lost due to all absences in the 2018/2019 school year. Please be assured that when your child is sick they are to stay home and recuperate. The following message in no way advocates sending sick children to school.
How much does an absence cost the District? – The cost for one absence in the 2018/2019 school year was $51 per day.
