Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with this week’s update.

This is the final week of the school year at Muir so please ensure that your child has turned in all of their textbooks and library books. Students should bring textbooks to the Media Center. The lost and found items will be placed in the front of the school after school on Tuesday and Wednesday.

For our 8th grade students, Tuesday and Wednesday will be promotion practice and Wednesday will be the promotion party. Thursday is Promotion for the 8th grade class. Promoting 8th grade students should be on the lower field by 8. Gates will open for attendees at 8:15 and the ceremony will begin at 9am sharp.

Thursday is also the last day of school for 6th and 7th grade students. It is a minimum day so school will start at 8 and students will be dismissed at 12:33.

Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with this week’s update.

This is finals week at Muir and all students will have finals on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday will be periods 3 and 6; Thursday will be periods 1 and 4; and Friday periods 2 and 5.

Let’s Do Lunch for 6th grade families will take place this Friday. Please be sure to bring your ID in case there are any issues with our Raptor system.

On Friday, the John Muir Fundraising Committee is holding a fundraiser all day at the Jersey Mike’s on Hollywood Way above the Burbank Airport. Please see the attached flyer. 

A reminder that all textbooks and library books need to be turned in by this Friday. You can check the Assets and Resources tab in the Aeries Parent Portal to see which textbooks need to be returned.

Finally, looking ahead to next week, Thursday, May 25th will be the last day of school and will be a minimum day with dismissal at 12:33.

Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with this week’s update.

This is Teacher Appreciation Week and a great time to send your child’s teachers an email or note thanking them for all that they have done for your child this year.

Tomorrow evening at 7 in the library is the last PTSA meeting of the school year. They will be presenting their 23-24 proposed calendar and installing their new Executive Board. All are welcome to attend.

Let’s Do Lunch for 8th grade families will take place this Friday. Please be sure to bring your ID in case there are any issues with our Raptor system. Let’s Do Lunch for 6th grade students will take place next Friday, May 19th.

Finally, we are starting to collect textbooks from 8th grade students this week and need all 8th grade textbooks turned in by next Tuesday, May 16th to participate in 8th grade activities. 6th and 7th grade students will start turning in their textbooks next Monday and need to have all of their books turned in by Friday, May 19th. You can check the Assets and Resources tab in the Aeries Parent Portal to see which textbooks need to be returned.

Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with this week’s update.

This is Spirit Week at Muir. Tomorrow is Break Dress Code Day where students can pay a dollar and wear a baseball cap; Wednesday is Couch Potato Day; Thursday is Country versus Country Club Day; and Friday is Bikers versus Surfers Day.

On Thursday and Friday at 6:30 pm our vocal music group will present their spring concert. See the attached flyer to order tickets online.

Also, Let’s Do Lunch for 6th grade students is scheduled for this Friday, but due to the forecast of rain this week, we are moving it to Friday, May 19th. Let’s Do Lunch for 8th grade families is still scheduled for next Friday, May 12th.

Finally, gown distribution for 8th grade students will take place next Wednesday. If you have not paid for your child’s gown, the cost is $25 and you can pay on our webstore or in cash at our finance office.
