Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with a special announcement.

I am very happy to announce that we have reached our goal of raising $15,000 for the renovation of our track. Thank you to the John Muir Fundraising Committee for their initial pledge of $15,000 and thank you to the many families that donated additional funds to match that $15,000.

If you missed us today, about 50 members of our staff colored their hair green in honor of reaching our second incentive. In the next two weeks, all students will receive a cookie from our cafeteria, plus a future Bean Run day will be changed to a choice play day in PE.

Even though we have reached our goal, we will continue our fundraising efforts until Spring Break for two reasons. First, we will use any additional funds to put in new long jump runways which are also in poor shape. Second, we want to give more families the opportunity to have their names included on the mosaic giving tree that will be created on Mustang Field that will recognize families and businesses that give $250 or more. If you would like to donate, you can either click the link on our homepage or bring in a check made payable to the John Muir Fundraising Committee and all donations are tax-deductible.

Thank you again for your generosity and have a great day.

Friday is Art Day for all of our 6th grade students as they will be participating in activities throughout the day.

Please note that because of Art Day, lunch will start at 11:54.

The John Muir ASB is extending their Children’s Hospital Toy Drive through February. Students can drop off new, unwrapped toys in the foyer and gift cards in the front office.

Finally, if you have not yet taken the district’s School Satisfaction Survey, it closes today and I would encourage you to use the link in the accompanying email and provide feedback about your family’s experience at Muir.

Thank you and have a great week.

Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with a special announcement.

If you missed last week’s announcement, we have started a fundraiser to renovate our track. The John Muir Fundraising Committee has pledged $15,000 and we are trying to raise an additional $15,000 to match it and complete the cost of the track renovation. I am very happy to announce that we have raised $8,950 and are already 60% of the way to our goal after only one week!

We have already achieved two of our schoolwide incentives, so our administrators and counselors will be dressed up like squirrels and unicorns on Thursday and most of our faculty and staff will color their hair green one day next week.

If we hit $10,000 then all of our students will receive one of our extremely popular cookies from our cafeteria and if we reach our goal of $15,000, we will turn one of our Bean Run days into a choice play day in PE.

Contributions of all sizes are greatly appreciated. If $20 is all that you are comfortable donating, then we are happy to partner with you and thankful for your generosity.

We are creating a mosaic giving tree that will be permanently and prominently displayed on Mustang Field that will recognize families and businesses that give $250 or more.

You can easily donate by clicking the link on our homepage or bringing in a check made payable to the John Muir Fundraising Committee and all donations are tax-deductible. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thank you again for your generosity and have a great day.

We have capacity for 200 student volunteers and the link to sign up will be sent out Wednesday afternoon at four. Students will need to sign up through their BUSD account.

Finally, the John Muir IMA is selling See's Candy to help earn money for their program. The link is in the email that accompanies this message and you can share this link with friends and family as the candy ships directly to them after they purchase it.

Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with a special announcement.

For many years, the track that our students run on daily has been deteriorating and in need of repair. I am very excited to announce that the John Muir Fundraising Committee has pledged $15,000 toward the renovation of the track. The overall cost of the track renovation is $30,000 so we are looking to match JMFC's contribution and raise an additional $15,000.

We are creating a mosaic giving tree that will be permanently and prominently displayed on Mustang Field that will recognize families and businesses that give $250 or more.

We will also have schoolwide incentives, including the admin team dressing up as squirrels; staff coloring their hair green; cookies for all students; and if we reach our goal of $15,000, we will turn one of our Bean Run days into a choice play day in PE.

You can easily donate by clicking the link on our homepage or bringing in a check made payable to the John Muir Fundraising Committee and all donations are tax-deductible.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and your commitment to providing the best experience for our kids.

Thank you and have a great day.
