Online resources and apps are an important part of Burbank Unified School District’s commitment to providing the highest quality educational experience for our students.  BUSD partners with educational app providers to provide personalized and engaging curriculum for students. Adaptive online assessments help teachers address individual needs of each child and collaborative tools allow students to problem-solve in an environment that mirrors what they will experience in college and career.  Streaming video and other online media help students make connections between learning in school and current events. District software systems are also essential to record-keeping, progress reporting and communicating with students and their families.

At BUSD, we are excited to provide online resources to support our students and their families.  We are also committed to ensuring our students' safety and privacy online. District-adopted apps are reviewed against high standards for educational quality and security and privacy safeguards.

BUSD has partnered with the following platforms to provide core online services for our staff, teachers and students:

  • Google G Suite for Education
  • Microsoft Office 365 Education
  • Apple School Manager and iCloud

A list of additional district approved apps and software is available at https://www.burbankusd.org/apps and will be updated throughout the school year. All approved platforms, apps and software meet State (AB 1584) and Federal (FERPA) legal requirements for student data privacy. The District remains in control of student data at all times and targeted advertising by software providers is prohibited.  Apps may also be approved if they do not require student data to function.

Please direct any questions about student data privacy or educational software use to our Technology Help Desk (support@burbankusd.org).
