This list does not include all possible COVID-19 symptoms. Children and adolescents with the virus that causes COVID-19 may experience any, all, or none of these symptoms. Make sure to notify your school office within 3 days of absences and work with your school site nurse.
If your child is experiencing one or more of the above symptoms, which may be consistent with COVID 19, please keep your child home and administer a COVID test and notify your school health and attendance office staff if positive. If your student tests negative but is exhibiting symptoms of illness, please keep them home and continue to monitor and have them return when symptoms have improved. Please keep in constant communication with the school health office and your student's physician during this time for a potential medical evaluation.
COVID-19 rebound is when people with COVID-19 get better, then begin to get symptoms 2-8 days after they have recovered. They may also test positive again. COVID-19 rebound has been seen in people who received treatment for COVID-19 as well as people who did not receive treatment. One of several treatments that are associated with COVID-19 rebound is Paxlovid. This is an antiviral pill and it is the medicine that is used most often to treat COVID-19.
