  • Welcome to Muir Middle School Library

    Library books

The mission of our library is to promote and support the educational goals of the school. The very best thing about a school library is that it is specialized; everything in the library is there with the student in mind and every student in the school has access to it. Books students need to complete school projects, books to help them think and create, and books that encourage them to keep reading and learning. Access to information is a powerful learning tool.

The library is open every day when school is in session from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students may come with a class or on their own before and after school, nutrition and lunch. It is a quiet place for students to read, study, do homework or research, or just to find something enjoyable to read!

We actively partner with the Burbank Public Libraries in support of their youth programs, author events and summer reading program. Some of our students have also participated in the book clubs offered at the public libraries.

Our library collection continues to grow and expand. We’ve added hundreds of new books for our students; from research topics to reference titles to popular fiction. Donations are always welcome and supporting the school library means that we can continue to provide a variety of up-to-date books and technology for the students in our community.

If I was a book, I would like to be a library book, so I would be taken home by all different sorts of kids.”
    -Cornelia Funke
A good library will never be too neat, or too dusty, because somebody will always be in it, taking books off the shelves and staying up late reading them.”
    - Lemony Snicket
