Dress Code Policy

  • Students May Wear

    • Knit caps, beanies or full-brimmed hats (outside only)
    • Religious headwear
    • Hooded sweatshirts (no hood may be worn on the head)
    • Fitted pants (including leggings, yoga pants and “skinny jeans” if not see-through)
    • Ripped jeans (that do not expose the buttocks)
    • Tank tops (including spaghetti straps, off the shoulder tops and halter tops)

    Students may not wear:

    • Clothing that contains violent language or is gang-related including bandanas
    • Clothing referring to drugs, alcohol or any illegal item or activity
    • Clothing with hate-speech, profanity or pornography
    • Clothing that creates a hostile environment for any protected group
    • Any item that hides the face or ears including hoods (except for religious reasons)
    • Sunglasses inside a building (unless recommended by a physician)
    • Baseball caps
    • slippers

    Disciplinary Action

    First Offense:

    • Parent or Guardian called
    • Student will need to change into acceptable clothing

    Second Offense:

    • Parent/Guardian called
    • Student will need to change into acceptable clothing
    • Consequence Assigned

    Third Offense:

    • Parent/Guardian called
    • Student will need to change into acceptable clothing
    • Detention will be assigned

    Fourth Offense:

    • Parent/Guardian called
    • Student will need to change into acceptable clothing
    • Saturday School or detention will be assigned

    Fifth Offense:

    • Parent/Guardian Conference held
    • Additional interventions will be considered
