Ms. Deborah Madrigal
Deborah grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and graduated from Covina High School. She attended college at Cal Poly Pomona where she earned a Liberal Studies degree with a Multi-Cultural studies emphasis. Deborah also attended Azusa Pacific University where she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
Deborah has been an educator for more than 30 years, starting her career as an Instructional Aide in both elementary and high school settings. She spent 17 years in the classroom as a Special Education teacher. She was the Dean of Students at Baldwin Park High School, and eventually became the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. During her time in Baldwin Park, the high school increased its API score by 77 points over a five-year time span.
Deborah spent one year as the Principal of Franklin High School in Los Angeles Unified School District where she successfully completed the WASC process resulting in a six-year accreditation. She effectively implemented an instructional program resulting in a 21-point increase in API and during her time at Franklin she developed and implemented professional learning communities.
Most recently, Deborah was the Director of College Readiness and Retention for the Roll Global Corporation. In this capacity, she maintained and monitored company scholarship programs working with over 40 colleges. She developed and implemented summer college readiness summer camps and worked with 38 different high schools in the Central Valley to supervise the academic enrichment program. Lastly, she worked with over 28 different elementary and middle schools to facilitate and monitor parent engagement programs.
