Dear Burbank Unified School District Family,

As we prepare to begin the 2025–2026 school year, I want to extend my heartfelt welcome to each and every one of you. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, thank you for being part of this incredible community of educators, support staff, and leaders.

This summer brought its share of challenges—some expected, others unforeseen. Yet through it all, it will be your resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our students and each other that will drive us through this all. These moments have reminded us that growth often comes through adversity, and opportunity is born from reflection and renewal.   This moment of challenge will be a catalyst for growth, resilience, and renewed success across our District.

As we step into this new school year, let us embrace the journey ahead with open hearts and clear intentions. Let this be a year of connection, collaboration, and courage. A year where we lean into our strengths, support one another, and continue to build a district that reflects the best of who we are and what we stand for.

You don’t need to be perfect. You need to be present. You don’t need every answer. You need clarity, consistency, and connection.

Lead with trust— in your classrooms, your offices, your hallways, school campus grounds, and your teams. Build real relationships that strengthen our school communities. It’s not about controlling the environment, It’s about connecting with the people in it.  We lead by lifting others—because leadership is a shared journey.

Be the difference—for each other, and for the students we serve.
