California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA)
Burbank Unified School District has adopted the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA). Effective January 1, 2025 any Public Works project that is estimated to be at or below $220,000 may be contracted via the Informal Bidding Procedures as outlined in the act. Contractors that are interested in participating in informal bids with Burbank Unified School District as a CUPCCAA contractor must be prequalified. BUSD invites all interested licensed contractors to submit a prequalification application for inclusion on the District's Informal Bidding Contractors List.
Contractors wishing to be included must hold a valid CSLB license with a license classification in each category for which they wish to receive bid solicitations. Additionally, pursuant to SB 854, no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid or awarded a contract for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) per California Labor Code section 1725.5.
