English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

All parents of English learners are warmly encouraged to participate in their school’s English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC). These committees meet at least four times per year at each school site and play a vital role in shaping and improving programs that support English learners.

All parents of English learners are encouraged to participate in DELAC, the District-level English Learner Advisory Committee. This committee is made up of parents, staff, and community members who are designated to advise district leaders on programs and services for English learners.
๐ฌ DELAC plays a vital role in shaping district-wide decisions and provides valuable input to improve services and outcomes for English learners across Burbank USD.

๐ Legal Requirement
Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF):

Districts with 50 or more English learners

And with 15% or more of total enrollment identified as English learners โก๏ธ Must establish a DELAC and ensure it fulfills specific responsibilities related to the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
