State Subsidized Preschool & School-Age Childcare
California Department of Education State Funded Centers
These programs are for qualifying low-income families only. TK and K-5th children must be enrolled in these schools and meet state eligibility requirements for low-income families. Fees are assessed on a sliding scale. Parents working full-time outside the home and/or enrolled in a vocational/educational programs are given priority. We accept enrollments year-round as openings become available; however, placement on our waitlist is not based on how long one has been on the waitlist, but rather based on need as calculated on the state-issued sliding scale.

When submitting your eligibility/wait list application, please be sure to include the following so that we can determine your eligibility right away. If both parents are living in the home, please provide income information for each.
1. Application for Eligibility/Waiting List
2. Documentation for basis of need (If both parents live in the same home, please provide for each parent):
- If Employed:
- Verification of Employment and Salary Form
- Two months of check stubs (if paid weekly=4/month, bi-weekly=2/month, monthly=1/month for most recent pay periods)
- If Seeking Employment:
- Parent Plan for Seeking Employment Form- please note that families who have a parent seeking employment will not be approved for more than 6 hours for preschool/school-age childcare. Hours can be adjusted once employment is secured.
- If Unemployed/Attending school (please provide any that apply):
- Educational/Vocational Training Form (must also include course printouts or current schedule and verification of progress for school enrollment, i.e. quarterly/semester grades, report cards, completion certificates, etc.)
- At-risk Letter
- Proof of Child Protective Services Recipient
- Proof of Homelessness
- Proof of Cash Aid recipient
- Statement of Parental Incapacity Form (CD-9606)
3. Copies of state-issued birth certificates for all children living in the home under the age of 18.
4. Copy of the most recent immunization record for the child that services are being requested for.
5. Rental Verification Form (if renting)
6. Utility Bill (within the last 30 days) in the name of the enrolling parent- Water/Power/Gas Bill preferred.
*PLEASE NOTE: if you are a family living with another family, we will need a copy of the utility bill, a copy of the photo ID of someone listed on the utility bill, and proof of residency for the enrolling parent (e.g. credit card bill, cell phone bill, bank statement, in the name of the enrolling parent to the address listed on the bill.)
