The After-School Education and Safety Program (ASES)
is a partnership with the
City of Burbank,
Boys and Girls Club of Burbank
and,
Los Angeles County
that exists to help improve student performance in school
and
to provide a safe environment after school for students in grades 1-8.
The program consists of several elements:

Educational and literacy component in content areas

Homework time with assistance for clarification

Educational enrichment component (visual and performing arts, recreational, physical fitness, and prevention activities.

After-school snack
ASES is a program funded through a state grant. The program operates everyday school in is session, from dismissal time until 6 p.m. except for an occasional staff development day. The program follows the regular school calendar and is closed for all school holidays and breaks.
- ASES requires a $75/year registration fee for the first child in a family (additional children in the same family receive a discount)
- ASES is free once registered for the program
- Students must attend the program at the schools where it is offered
- ASES provides a safe alternative for after school with adult supervision
- ASES grant requires a parent or parent designee to sign their student(s)
- out of the program each day
- ASES programs are located in BUSD at Disney Elementary, Providencia Elementary, Washington Elementary, and Luther Middle School
