Board of Education

The Burbank Unified School District Board of Education is a five-member Board of Trustees elected by the public. Board members are elected by voters within their respective Trustee Areas within the City of Burbank to serve four-year terms, while working together as a Board to serve the educational interests of all BUSD students, families, staff and the community.
The Board works with the Superintendent to set the District’s direction, establish policy and support student success. Its responsibilities include adopting the annual budget, approving expenditures, authorizing the employment of personnel, approving curriculum, textbooks and courses of study, and providing oversight of District programs, operations and facilities.
Board meetings are held in public and provide opportunities for the community to stay informed and participate in Burbank Unified.
