Responsible and Safe Social Media
With every generation we enjoy technological advances intended to help make our lives simpler. Yet, sometimes technology moves so quickly that once we familiarize ourselves with the app, program, or software an update emerges. Often we look to young people to help us understand the newest, and sometimes oldest, resources in the digital frontier. Safe and responsible use of social media is an important concept as we continue to explore innovative methods of interpersonal communication.
The resources on this page are intended to help guide conversations about an important interpersonal communication skill: the responsible and safe use of social media.
Burbank USD has implemented Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) where adults and youth alike build by example and create purposeful opportunities to establish and maintain school campuses that are safe and caring places to work, learn, and visit. Social media is an extension of that community. Together we can extend the concepts of safe and caring communities to include our digital landscape.
