    School-based Counseling Program

    For more than fifteen years, FSA has been offering school-based counseling services for elementary, middle, and high school students. These services require parent / guardian permission.  Burbank USD student referrals to FSA counseling services may be made by either a school administrator or by a parent / guardian.  There is no cost for these services due to a subsidy from the City of Burbank and Burbank USD.  If you would like more information please contact FSA at (818) 845-7671 or your child's Burbank USD school.

    Education-Related Mental Health Services Counseling

    Burbank USD contracts with FSA to provide counseling services for special education students, based on the counseling goals specified in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s).  For more information about these services, please contact Tamara Schiern, the BUSD Director of Special Education and Psychological Services.     Foster Youth / Homeless and At-Risk Student Support

    FSA offers services on BUSD school campuses, in family's homes, or at their FSA office location to eligible foster, homeless, low-income and at-risk families. Along with FSA's Youth Advocate / Case Manager, FSA’s Director of Residential Services identify existing FSA clients needing support as well as providing support for BUSD students and their families referred to FSA who are offered advocacy and case management services.     High School Student Care Centers

    FSA staffs on-site Student Care Centers at Burbank High School (BHS) and John Burroughs High School (JBHS) in an effort to provide high quality prevention, education, and referral services for students, on a walk-in basis. The Centers offer a tranquil and supportive respite for students to collect their thoughts and share their feelings in an environment staffed with therapists from FSA. To date, several hundred students have utilized the program’s services at the two comprehensive high schools.
