Earthquake Prep & Response

  • Drop Cover Hold

Last summer's series of earthquakes rocking Southern California sent a not-so-gentle reminder to us all that we do, in fact, live in earthquake country. On July 4 & 5, 2019, the area around Ridgecrest, CA, about 140 miles north of Burbank, experienced several major quakes along the Lake Fault. Many in the Burbank area felt the earthquakes, but generally did not have any damage. The schools and buildings within BUSD suffered no damage.

Now is a great time to refresh your earthquake preparedness and response plans.

Ready.gov has many excellent resources https://www.ready.gov/earthquakes to get you started.

ReadyBurbank.org offers information on all emergency preparedness and response whether you live, work, or play in the City of Burbank.
