New School Year, New Look
Over the summer we launched our new district website, now hosted by Blackboard! Our new website can be found at the same URL – http://www.burbankusd.org. Our team is continuing to go through all of the pages to ensure that links and information are up-to-date, but if you do notice an issue with a webpage please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ve also launched a new parent notification system, allowing District and Principals to better communicate with our school communities. And finally, our new district mobile app will also be launching next month and we will have more information released soon.
If you’re having trouble finding where to access staff email on our new website, please click on the “Staff Email” link on the BUSD home page or your school’s home page. Need assistance logging in? You can find our help page here - https://www.burbankusd.org/emailaccess.

How to Open an IT and Facilities Work Order
Quick reminder we are using Fresh Service for both Technology and Facilities work orders. All staff can open Technology work orders, but only office managers, administrators and secretaries can submit Facilities work orders.
To open a Technology work order, please go to https://support.burbankusd.org and log in using your BUSD email address and password. Then select "Report an Incident" and fill out the form to report a specific problem. You can also select "Request New Service" or "Service Catalog" for fillable common service requests. To expedite resolution, please provide as much information as possible. You can also check the status of your work orders by selecting the "Your Tickets” icon below the Announcements section.
If you are not an office manager, Facilities work requests will be kicked back to you. Please forward that email to your office manager so they can submit it on your behalf.
Be sure to browse through the extensive solutions to common issues under the "Browse Solutions" section, with topics ranging from Aeries, Google Apps, Telephones, Office 365, 21st Century Devices, Printers, Chromebooks, Windows and more. Please check back often for updates and additions.
You may also open a Technology ticket by emailing email@example.com or calling our Help Desk at 818-729-3401 or x43401. We will be happy to assist you.
Phishing and Spoofing
Phishing is the attempt to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details. This is often done for malicious reasons by appearing to be a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Phishers try to trick a user into believing the email is authentic and either from Burbank USD staff or from a legitimate organization. The more authentic looking the email, the higher the chance of success a user will click on the link. Use caution when clicking on links and please report any suspicious emails to firstname.lastname@example.org.<style="color: #808080; font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px; margin: 0;">
Think of spoofing as pretending to be someone you know. They are attempting to gain unauthorized access to computers (clicking on links) or have you do something (buy/send them iTunes gift cards).
Here is a sample of a spoofed email:
Here are some ways to recognize a phishing email:
• Poor English, spelling, or other grammatical errors;
• Look to see who actually sent the email. Mouse over the sender and you may see the email is not from the person you think it sending the message;
• Look for the [External] tag in the subject line. If it has that tag, it came from outside of BUSD and they may be an imposter.
Google Chrome and Aeries
When logging into Aeries please use Google Chrome. Using other web browsers like Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer may result in compatibility issues. Google Chrome also tends to be the most compatible browser for other websites, so we recommend you make it your default browser whenever possible.
