Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with this week’s update.

On Wednesday and Thursday evening at 6:30, our Vocal Music program presents “A SoCal Winter Concert.” Tickets are $12 online and $15 at the door.

Friday is Let’s Do Lunch for our 6th grade students and their families. If you plan on attending Let’s Do Lunch, but have not had your ID scanned this year, please stop by our main office by Thursday to have your ID scanned.

Friday after school we will put all of the lost and found items out in the front of the school for parents to look through. Items that are not collected will be donated to charity.

Also on Friday from 3:30 to 5:30, our ASB is hosting their Winter Wonderland Party complete with a DJ and hot chocolate bar. They are pre-selling tickets all week during lunch until they sell out. Tickets cost $10 and include a piece of pizza, water, and candy.

Finally, we are still taking donations for our Holiday Food Drive and donations will be accepted through December 4th. We are also looking for gifts and gift cards for families in need. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Brooks in the Main Office.

This is the final week of the school year at Muir so please ensure that your child has turned in all of their textbooks and library books. Students should bring textbooks to the Media Center. The lost and found items will be placed in the front of the school after school on Tuesday and Wednesday.

For our 8th grade students, Tuesday and Wednesday will be promotion practice and Wednesday will be the promotion party. Thursday is Promotion for the 8th grade class. Promoting 8th grade students should be on the lower field by 8. Gates will open for attendees at 8:15 and the ceremony will begin at 9am sharp.

Thursday is also the last day of school for 6th and 7th grade students. It is a minimum day so school will start at 8 and students will be dismissed at 12:33.

Good evening, this is Dr. Miller, principal at John Muir Middle School with this week’s update.

Welcome to the last week of school. 6th and 7th grade students will have morning, virtual classes Monday through Thursday and for those that come on campus, 6th and 7th graders will have afternoon, in-person classes on Monday through Wednesday.

Today is the last day of classes both online and in the afternoon for 8th grade students. Textbook and Chromebook collection for 8th grade students will take place tomorrow and Wednesday. 8th grade families with Chromebooks should drive through our staff parking lot to drop off textbooks and Chromebooks tomorrow between 8:15 and 12. 8th grade students who do not have a school Chromebook can bring their books with them to Wednesday’s promotion practice. 7th grade drive thru textbook collection is next Tuesday, June 1 and 6th grade collection is next Wednesday, June 2. More details will be provided in the coming days.

Finally, if you ordered a yearbook for your child, but have yet to pick it up, please come by the main office this week to get your child’s copy.
