• Overview
ASD is an after school drop-in program at Providencia Elementary school. It is run by the City of Burbank’s Parks and Recreation Department. The program is supervised on site by experienced and enthusiastic Parks and Recreation staff members who have been trained in CPR and First Aid. Staff members will help students with their homework. They also plan and provide fun and interesting craft activities, sports games and hold special events. The program runs from 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily, beginning on the first day of the school year. ASD does not operate on weekends, during holidays or summer break. ASD staff emphasizes that ASD is a drop in program, meaning children who are registered are not required to attend daily. However, it is not a child-care program.

Does ASD accept Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students?

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students are accepted, but the program does not start until the 2:30 p.m. dismissal bell rings. If you would like your Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten student to participate, you will have to pick them up at 1:30 p.m. and bring them back at 2:30 p.m.

How much does the program cost?
The program fee is $115.00 per semester. This fee is due by the end of the second week of each school semester. Please note that a $50.00 registration fee (per child) to cover administrative costs associated with the program is required at the time of registration. A two-week notice before your child starts the program is required to receive a refund of the $50.00 registration fee. The registration fee is non-refundable once your child starts the program.
