Stephen James
Stephen C. James left Texas in 1999 and moved to LA where, since 2003, he has run the drama program at John Muir Middle School directing over twenty plays featuring the awesomely awkwardly adorable and awkwardly adorably awesome middle schools actors of Burbank. He's won a Moth GrandSLAM storytelling competition, works for The Second City during the summer, appeared on a few game shows, and is a devoted husband and father.

Lydia Lee
Lydia Lee is the vocal music director at John Muir Middle School, where she began teaching since 2001. Her program includes over 200 students from 6th-8th grade, divided into 5 choirs. They perform 3 school concerts a year. Incorporating choreography into their singing, her show choirs have won numerous competitions, placed superior at music festivals, and have been invited to sing with famous groups like Foreigner and musician Gene Simmons. When not busy with school rehearsals, fundraising and performances, Lydia enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and pet malti-poo.

Lori Musicant
Lori Musicant is an adjunct faculty member in the music departments at both Los Angeles City College and Los Angeles Valley College, where she teaches courses including Applied Clarinet, Current Musical Events, Fundamentals of Music, Wind Ensemble, and Woodwinds Instrument Instruction. Lori has been the director of band programs at Olive Middle School and Crestview Preparatory School, and has taught on faculty at Arrowbear Music Camp, Cazadero Music Camp, the Claremont Clarinet Festival, and the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra. An active freelance clarinetist/bass clarinetist, Lori was a founding member of the Avenel Chamber Players, former principal clarinetist with the Los Angeles Clarinet Choir, and has played with many other ensembles in the Los Angeles area, including the South Coast Symphony, Chorale Bel Canto, Belfry Symphony, Golden State Pops Orchestra, New Valley Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, Observatory Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Players, and the Hour of Power Orchestra. She received her Bachelor in Music Education from Michigan State University and her Master in Clarinet Performance from Florida State University, where she was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship in clarinet.

Liann Asmussen
Liann Asmussen studied Art at LA Valley College and Moorpark College. She won the Bronze Pencil Award at Moorpark College for a Commercial Art Competition. She loves teaching middle school aged students about art history and various techniques used in creating works of art.

Amy Prosser
Amy Prosser teaches Computers, Digital Media, and Yearbook at John Muir Middle School. She has taught middle and high school students for 8 years and teachers as an EdTech Specialist for 2 years. In a previous district, Amy won a teaching award for her passion and innovative technology integration. Before teaching, Amy studied at UCLA and Stanford, earning a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Education. Amy is also a published author of an EdTech book and occasionally presents at teaching conferences. She currently lives in Burbank with her husband, son, and corgi.

Donna Collier
Donna Collier is the culinary arts teacher at John Muir Middle School. Donna has a deep love of learning, cooking, and teaching and is able to evoke that same passion in her students. Her classes focus on nutrition and healthy eating habits while incorporating best practices, proper technique and etiquette.
