Human Resources is dedicated to recruiting, hiring, and retaining the most highly qualified applicants. Employees of Burbank Unified must recognize the magnitude of the responsibility placed upon them by the community for the education and care of the students of Burbank.

Certificated applications must hold or be eligible for a California credential. They must demonstrate Subject Matter Competency for the NCLB requirements. Includes all positions requiring a credential, including: Counselors, Teachers (K-12), Special Education Teachers, Children's Center Teachers, Adult School Teachers, ROP (Regional Occupational Program) Teachers, Speech Pathologists and Nurses. Also includes information regarding substitute teaching.

Classified applicants initially qualify through a testing process. Includes all support staff including: Accounting, Clerical, Campus Supervision, Food Service, Building Trades, Instructional Assistants, Custodial, Grounds and Technology. Also includes information regarding substitute work for classified positions.

Management Position applications are only accepted when there are openings.

Substitute Teaching:  At this time the District is NOT accepting any Substitute Teaching Applications.

2007-2008 BOARD OF EDUCATION STRATEGIC GOALS FOR HUMAN RESOURCES

  1. The District will retain, recruit, and employ highly qualified teachers and support staff.
  2. The District will provide ongoing staff recognition.
  3. The District will provide support to teachers new to the profession as well as to experienced teachers.
  4. The District will promote a comprehensive Code of Ethics. 
  5. The District will inform employees of its policies and procedures. 
  6. The District will encourage the continuing professional and career development of its employees.
  7. The District will provide training and promote practices to maintain a safe work environment and employee safety.
  8. The District will encourage and welcome input from its employees. 
  9. The District will promote continuous improvement of all employees through an effective evaluation program.
